About

Hi,

I'm a mania player who likes to collect score screenshots and other random stats.
I do actually have thousands of screenshots though, so maybe one day I'll make a gallery,
just to see how I've progressed over the years.

Also a big thanks to anyone who's gifted me supporter, I appreciate it greatly.

Setup/playstyle
Monitor: 3840x2160, 60Hz

Current Keyboard: WOOTING 2HE
Thoughts on the Wooting (opinions incoming)
Rapid trigger is a crutch that this keyboard depends on.
The weight of the keys (60g, I know 45g ones exists I'll probably get them at some point) causes the bounceback time (i.e. how long it takes for a key to unpress after you let it go) to be quite slow.
Without rapid trigger, it feels really quite strange to play because of it, and you may find yourself dropping inputs on fast stuff (especially if your actuation point is very high).

With rapid trigger on, the almost instant feedback you get by letting go of a key, is really awesome to feel for the first time, and I'd say it does help with LN just a tiny bit.
Unfortunately, to get the insanely good feedback, you need to have the sensitivity extremely high (<0.4mm), which in my experience causes major consistency issues.
When I first played with rapid trigger on a high sensitivity, I was dropping LNs like crazy, and even on rice I was double tapping a ton.

A good way to test if your sensitivity is too high, is to hold an LN on [1], and jack as fast as you can on [2].
If you drop the LN, then you need to decrease the sensitivity.

My current settings with the Wooting are:
Actuation point: 0.4mm
Downstroke sensitivity: 0.75mm
Upstroke sensitivity: 0.85mm
Continuous rapid trigger: Off
Updated Settings (as of 10/06/2024)
Actuation point: 0.5mm
Downstroke sensitivity: 1.2mm
Upstroke sensitivity: 0.85mm
Continuous rapid trigger: Off
Updateder Settings (as of 20/08/2025)
Actuation point: 0.5mm
Downstroke sensitivity: 0.8mm
Upstroke sensitivity: 0.9mm
Continuous rapid trigger: Off

Overall, after 1 month my consistency still feels a little worse than it was with the Razor Huntsman, but it may be that I still need to get used to some things, or tweak the settings even more.
I'd say that compared to the Razor Huntsman, the change in my skill is net zero, very slightly better LN, very slightly worse consistency, yet I would still recommend this keyboard.

The reason why I would recommend this is durability, which was one of the main reasons I actually wanted to get a Wooting in the first place.
At 1 month of playing, I've been using the same keybinds the entire time and they show almost zero sign of damage, on top of that, the keyswitches themselves are hot-swappable, and available for a relatively low price (£0.75-£0.51 per switch depending on how many you buy).
About durability
It's been about a year since I got the Wooting, and a little while ago my keybinds majorly began to suffer- so I bought some 45g switches and replaced the ones I needed.
It worked great and I felt like the keyboard was almost as good as new.

Another couple months later my keybinds start to feel bad again, and it gets to a point where I decide to do another switch replacement- a little earlier than I had anticipated.

What really shocked me, is that after replacing the switches, it still felt bad. I was wondering why this was the case, so on a whim I decided to try changing keycaps, low and behold, it felt much better (but also I took the keycaps from the numpad so they were at the wrong angle).
Thus marks the day where I learned that keycaps are actually also important for durability and feel.

What I said about hot-swappable switches being great for durability is still absolutely true, but just keep in mind that you'll want to get some fresh keycaps too.

So at the end of the day, if you were already willing to spend upwards of £120 for a good keyboard, then the Wooting sitting at £180, might be a good investment.
But please for the love of god, do NOT buy this keyboard thinking its going to magically turn you into a top player.
About 'needing a good keyboard to be a top player'
I'm not going to sit here and tell you that you can be the best tournament player by using a shitty 62.5hz polling rate membrane keyboard, but there is a specific point at which getting a better keyboard *may* be beneficial for you.

I'm going to talk mainly about polling rate here, and if you know your keyboard has 1000hz+, then don't bother getting a new one unless your current keyboard is literally dying and you've used up all the keybinds you're comfortable with (or unless your accuracy is as good as Inteliser's, in which case, get an 8000hz polling rate keyboard or something).

I played on membrane Mac keyboards for about 3 years before I moved to mechanical.
The keyboards I used all had 125hz polling rate, and somewhere between 3-6key rollover, depending on which keys you were using.
Those keyboards were 'terrible', but with them; I cleared luminal (back in 2018 this was impressive okay), got top 500 global, and played in MWC with them.
My accuracy was not great, but it was barely the fault of the keyboard.

When I finally got a better keyboard (the Ducky One Two) with a 1000hz polling rate, my scores on generic rice maps went from a 994k SS to a 995k SS. Incredible improvement, I know.

So with that in mind, here's my recommendations for when to get a higher polling rate keyboard, using SS's as a metric to roughly estimate your ratio (keep in mind I am pulling these numbers straight out of my ass).
Polling rate 125hz -> 1000hz:
  1. At least semi-consistent 994k SS's on generic rice maps (4*+)
  2. Or at least semi-consistent 997k SS's on chordjack (because chordjack is super easy to acc)
  3. Or at least semi-consistent 993k SS's on LN maps
Polling rate 1000hz -> 8000hz:
  1. At least consistent 999k on generic rice maps (or high 998k if you play more techy/bursty stuff)
  2. Or at least consistent 999.6k on chordjack
  3. Or you want to go for 1 Million scores (and are relatively close to being able to do so)
  4. (I suck at LN so I don't know what scoreline would be appropriate here)
Old Keyboards
Old Keyboard: Razor Huntsman, TKL, mechanical, wired, 8000Hz polling rate?, Linear Optical Switches
Older Keyboard: Ducky One Two, 65%, mechanical, wired, 1000Hz polling rate (1000Hz helps so much wtf)
Olderest Keyboard: Seenda super-slim (knock-off Apple), membrane, wireless, no numpad, 125Hz polling rate (acc is pain)

Mouse: Zelotes T10 that my brother got at a car boot sale for £2 like 7 years ago
New Mouse: Zelotes T90 (yes its just a newer model of my old mouse)

Playstyle 4k: regular spread
Fun fact about my old playstyle
I used to play close spread (e.g. 'hjkl'). I did this because 1. I started really young, so my fingies were small back then (and they actually still are), and 2. My first rhythm game was Piano Tiles 2, so when I started playing SDVB (SDVX Roblox clone) and FFR, I instinctively set my binds to a close spread setup to replicate how I played Piano Tiles.
Playstyle 6k: regular spread
Playstyle 7k: 3+4 (no idea what the terminology is, same as regular spread but with RH pinky rather than thumb)
Current Keys 4k: zx./
Current Keys 6k: asdkl;
Current Keys 7k: sdfjkl; (yeah I know its weird)
Previous Keys 4k: hjkl jkl; vbm, asdf m,./ askl sdkl sd;' cv,. zxnm er[]
(plus the following which have been used with the keyboard upside down lol): ytre poiu 0987

Keyboards Murdered: 5

Also since I play taiko now, I'll add that I play full alt with regular spread keybinds.
(and for the extra curious, I also play full alt in 1key, on the 'g' key, and also full alt in 2key, on the Windows and Right-Ctrl keys (rebound to F23 and F24, which don't exist on my keyboard naturally))

Dans/Courses
I would like to request for SOC and Future Dom to be sent to a rehabilitation facility in order to become functioning members of society.

Traditional 4k Dans:
Luminal v2 Pass (16/09/2018)
Luminal for 2 years lol
Luminal v2 1.1 Pass (31/08/2021)
skipping luminal 1.05 and tachyon v3 moment

LN 4k Dans:

6k Dans (only one here for now):
5th 94.72% (16/05/2021)
so much harder than it was to progress in 4k Dans

Malody Dans (in osu):

Other Stuff:
Purple Palace FC (MWC2021 Custom Grand Finals Tiebreaker) (10/08/2022)
"Man their acc is so bad even though they FC'ed" - Eliminate looking at the Purple Palace leaderboards (not me) without realising that I also FC'ed because my acc was so bad that I got an even lower rank.
LARGE PP (31/08/2022)
Decided to pp farm for some reason
Top 18 plays all set in one day, + the top play is an FC for extra cool points.
Genuinely though pp farming is pretty fun. I used to hate it because jumptrills and vibro, but as I'm recently getting more into LN, and the meta is also shifting towards it, the pp farm ranked maps are mostly just really fast hybrids, which is fun.
Fake Fake Fake 10 times in a row (14/05/2023)
This is 38 minutes of dense 255bpm jumpstream and handstream

This was without a doubt the most stamina intensive score I have ever set
I'm pretty sure Nate almost seriously injured his hand from this too

Peak 4k Rank: #47 (on 25/10/2025)
Peak 4k Country Rank: #2 (on 03/10/2025)

Tournaments
Since 2021 I've greatly improved my acc and actually figured out how to somewhat learn sv, so hopefully tournaments go better in the future (spoiler: they did).
Next up is to learn is LN (it's 2023 2024 2025 now and uhhh, I'm still working on that).

STKE: 1st (MY FIRST TOURNAMENT BADGE LETS GOOOOOOOOO FINALLY!!!!) feat. bribery :3
I think this tournament has genuinely been my favourite tournament ever, the maps were incredibly high quality, fully custom, and the song choices were absolute bangers, not to mention the amazing close matches throughout the tournament, and yet another incredible Grand Finals TB custom from Sydosys- plus a custom song from T11, freaking T11!!!!!

But honestly, what made this tournament so special for me was the people- I had so much fun competing against MiniEgg and Dragon throughout the whole tournament- without them I would have never played 2k as much, and never would have gotten to the skill level that I am now.

But as the cherry on top of all that- I got to go see both MiniEgg and Dragon in person, the very day before my Grand Finals match against MiniEgg!
Like how insane is that? Literally the day before the Grand Finals of this tournament that we've been talking to each other about non-stop for the last month, we end up going to an arcade and playing rhythm games together for 6 hours, getting to joke about our upcoming match all throughout the day (and giving miniegg the opportunity to bribe me, twice lol).

And it doesn't stop there, right from the beginning of the tournament, we all joked saying that maybe we could get the top 4 of the tournament to be entirely UK. And we actually almost freaking did it lmao.
The bracket was absolutely perfectly in our favour, and we managed to get the top 3 to be all UK players, with Dragon placing top 6, just barely missing out on 4th with a 6-1 loss against Basil (who beat me 5-0 earlier in the tournament).

Oh you thought we were done? No no no, there's still much more that made me love this tournament so much.
First of all, the very concept of the 2-key playstyle is something that I have adored and wished was given more spotlight for years now. (I have been trilling jacks for almost as long as I have been playing rhythm games, so for gods sake please stop calling it the "Jakads method" I beg you)
So the fact that I got to actually apply all my years of pointless practice, and have the technique get more exposure? It was simply amazing.

And I mentioned the people briefly earlier, but there were so many more that made the tournament fun for me, and I want to share my appreciation for these ones in particular:
Basil for being an amazing player, friendly competitor, and entertaining streamer- and for having such a fun, comfy community (I am eternally lurking in all your channels...)
Eliminate and Teezel, as my fellow UK citizens and former 1KWC teammates.
Maddy, as a fellow Vivid/Stasis enjoyer, generally wholesome person, and one of the very few players who actually learned to alternate :3
And of course, Sparxe, [LS]Ham, Iron, Nivrad, and the rest of the staff team that made this entire tournament possible- thank you from the bottom of my heart for giving me such a wonderful experience, you can be sure that I'll remember this tournament for the rest of my life.

Oh you thought we're done now? Nope.
First off, the mad geniuses managed to get the first ever 2-key tournament badged.
Giving me, my first ever badge with it.
After 7 years of playing, I can finally say proudly to the world, that I am a huge rhythm game nerd, who is officially recognised by osu for being good at the game.

Secondly, the staff team continues to bring me joy even after the conclusion of the tournament with the announcement of their next projects.
Not only did my favourite playstyle finally get to see a sliver of the light of day because of this tournament, but they now plan to move up in the world, to 3k- but no, not the boring 3k that's just worse 4k, the type of 3k that has four unique playstyles- yes, that's right, including fingerswitch (my beloved).

This is by far the best shot I may ever have at being able to play fingerswitch in a tournament- and by god do I believe that they are the ones best suited for the task.
So I'll see you all in Sydosys' Three Key Event (name pending), where I (hopefully :3) claim my next tournament badge!

Current Status
One knows not what the future holds... life tis' but a mystery veiled unto thee, that which one must endeavour to solve, lest thy be lost in the abyssal waters of time (I dropped out of uni).

I'm not going to explain why, as most of the reasons are very personal (far too much so for an osu About Me! page), but damn does the teaching quality at university really suck ass. Don't be like me and expect to actually be taught things at university.
I've learned the hard way that there was a very good reason why people used to refer to university as "reading for a degree", i.e. they don't teach you anything, you just read stuff and learn on your own (which I didn't know was the case, and was thus very confused/disappointed by my university).

But in any case, as for osu, well, at this point I don't think anything could make me stop playing this game. See you all when I'm 30 (maybe I'll actually be good at LN by then, who knows what the future holds...)

Old Status
I am a university student! Wow!
In all seriousness it wasn't nearly as big as a change to my life as I thought it would be, I still just sit on the computer for most of the day, going to lessons (now replaced with lectures) and studying when necessary.
There's a lot I could say about my course so far- but I'll refrain and just summarise by saying 'its alright'.

Playing rhythm games in my dorm doesn't seem to be an issue, I asked one of my flatmates and she said that they never heard any noise from my room, so that's good.

I honestly have arguably even more free time than I did in college (usually at least), but the addition of things like actually needing to make food for myself, socialise, and just in general make sure I have the things I need to live- takes up a surprising amount of time.
Not to mention the insane amount of procrastination I'm doing on my course (like I said, there is a lot I could say about it, but I've already wrote over 3000 words of feedback so I will refrain).

Honestly I'm not really enjoying my course right now, for a multitude of reasons, but its not terrible.
I'm just assuming that it will get better over time, if it doesn't then this is gonna be a rough 5 years- the course leaders have already addressed a lot of my feedback though, so that is a good sign.

Anyway, this is an Osu profile so I should talk about Osu.
If you read this far, I've been getting into mapping recently, so if you have any tips on how the heck to get things ranked (preferably with minimal social interaction)- it would be cool if you let me know.
Likewise if you have an interesting map, I'd love to review it if you want (dm me on Osu or Discord @zoobin4).
I don't really know why, but loads of people have been coming to me to review charts recently, but hey I like doing it so its cool.

In terms of actual gameplay, I have been playing semi-actively, just kinda whenever I feel like it.
My LNs are even worse than they were before, so I really want to work on that, but my acc is still pretty much at its peak, and physically I'm just rusty (but can fully de-rust in like a week).
I really need to stop playing so many tournaments though, even if I'm not taking them too seriously they still take so much time out of my weekend- I want to go visit this super cool person I met recently who made a custom PIU pad, but I can't because of too many tournaments!

Old Old Status
I've finished my A-levels and got the results I needed to get into my choice of university.
After summer ends, I'll be heading off to university in York to study Computer Science with Artificial Intelligence.

I am very much hoping that the walls in my dorm will be thick enough for me to continue playing rhythm games without being murdered by my dorm-mates (if not then I will likely invest in soundproofing or something idk rhythm games are an addiction I cannot stop).

Old Old Old Status
As of September 2021 I started college (ages 16-18 for non-UK people), I'm aiming for A's or A*'s in my courses and the workload is a lot. I originally planned to take an unofficial break from rhythm games, only playing in holidays and such, but I'm too addicted so I continued playing anyway.

I'll be taking my exams soon, and then going to university, so I'll probably be extremely busy. That said, I'm sure I'll find a way to keep playing anyway.

When summer holidays come, you can expect me to tryhard for MWC again. Until then though, I'll be over here slowly dying inside and crying about my Machine Learning project.
uh oh
Every couple weeks I have the urge to play a rhythm game, is this an addiction? (yes, it is)
