who influenced your mapping?
the only ones i can remember clearly are polarin, guden and elexire
polarin may be particularly hard to believe in given the stark contrast between my diff range in maps and his, but i do mean it when i say that some of his works have encouraged me to start dumpstreaming.
i like the amount of pattern freedom streams give and using them for vocals felt much more engaging than the other methods i've previously tried.
guden’s 8686m - canon in particular made me very intrigued in the structure of focusing jumps on vocals, leading guitar and overall straying away from the strict “rule” of chords for instrumental.
i can't say i'm familiar with his discography of maps but both this map style and artist rly stuck with me ever since.
elexire's maps made me mind lots about how isolating certain sounds can work better as a tool of contrast than the more conventional means. i like how sometimes he intentionaly leaves out everything else to focus solely on the vocals and even though they're very simply represented with single notes, i ended up kind of implementing the bare approach to some extent in my maps.
if you're interested you can check this site for more of my comments on certain mappers and how they influenced me
