(mini) backstory
i started playing osu! around 2018, sometime after finding out about the game through my then-brother-in-law that used to play osu!stream on his phone.
at first the game didn't click for me so i just quit playing.
about a year later i gave it another try and it hooked me, i got really motivated because i found a love for improving, started to play a lot more and grind.
saw big improvements in 2020, i felt like i was capable of achieving something. in this phase i experimented a lot on different ways to read and think about the game until i found the one i still use to this day.
then i was banned in september that same year for "cheating behavior".
most of the time i spent banned was offline and sometimes hopping onto other private servers but getting banned nonetheless. i wanna thank everyone that made my restriction bearable by giving me company while playing on ripple (you know who you are). it gets really lonely in there lol.
i remember 2021 was insanely good for me as a player, got way better on aim and could get HDHR scores more consistently, up until october, when i started having some problems with my tendons. when i went to the traumatologist i found out that it was a sagittal band rupture on my left hand + trigger finger stage 2, it was caused primarily by genetics and made doing anything other than singletap stuff insanely difficult.
i tried to fight it, trying out ring index didn't work (since the ring finger "shares" the same tendon as the middle one) and tapping with a different technique neither.
then the unban happened, in february 2022, ~1.5 years after the ban. (can't believe it's been like 4 years already)
when i got unrestricted i was so happy that i could finally get to play on bancho again, but unluckily my hand was already damaged, i couldn't move my middle and ring fingers as freely as i'd like to.
the wise choice probably would've been to just quitw, but since i was addicted to the game i decided to switch to click/x a month after the unban, it was the perfect solution; the only thing i needed was my index fingers.
that's been my playstyle ever since, from that point up until now i've been spending most of my time playing tournaments and rarely farming, i'm still not great at tapping but at least i have hopes that it can get better.
and it will, eventually.
TLDR: osu fun, improving a lot, ban, hand problem, unban, now still learning click/x and playing tourneys.
