I downloaded the game in October 2019 after seeing a YouTuber play it, and it seemed interesting. However, since I wasn’t very good at the game, I stopped playing after a while. Then, my real-life friend started playing, and sometime in July 2020, I began playing multiplayer with him. He was better at the time, and since I’m very competitive and dislike losing, I started playing seriously. But his passion for the game soon faded, while mine peaked (I was around rank 200k at that point).

As I continued to play osu! alone, with no one I knew to compare myself to, my motivation to play began to wane (probably around rank 30k). Then salvation came when I met another osu! player. I met them when I started attending high school, and we quickly became friends. Since they had a higher rank than me, my motivation skyrocketed, and so did my rank (In my first year of high school, I went from rank 24k to 5k).

After that, it was a rollercoaster of whether I wanted to play or not. I had some good months where I was really motivated to farm, but there were also months when I didn’t play as much. However, it was never enough to completely drop the game. My final goal is to be higher rank than my high school friend. So until then:
