My Tips For Improving
this is obviously a wip. I'm by no means an "amazing" player these are just tips I've found from my own personal journey.
Streaming
- Mastering low bpm is the most important thing to do before moving on to higher bpms. Once you are comfortable with the rhythm of a certain bpm and can consistently acc at least 95% or higher, then move up.
- Along with mastering low bpms, you obviously should be comfortable with doubles and triples, as burst streams, normal streams, and death streams are just extensions of triples. You should be working your way up from lower note streams to higher note streams in order to get comfortable with tapping the same rhythm for a long period of time.
- Warm-up with low bpm songs, don't jump into songs with bpms that are at your limit.
- Finger locking is just a result of you not being consistent at that bpm, if you finger lock often, practice lower bpms OR practice the same bpm but with smaller streams/bursts.
- You're not going to be able to stream at your highest bpm everyday and that's ok, just play a different map and save stream/speed for another time. I've actually caused some pretty uncomfortable pain in my tapping hand from forcing myself to play bpms I'm not comfortable with. This is a game and is not worth real life health problems so try not to strain yourself out too much!
Aim
- Similarly to streaming, master lower AR aim maps with even higher acc (I'd say 97% to even 100% acc). Personally I can't read most maps below AR 8 so don't go so low that it becomes more of a "reading" map than an actual aim map.
- Memorize hard sections of aim maps so you can mentally prepare the upcoming pattern.
- Play aim maps with different patters. Yes Sotark's 1-2 jumps give you a lot of pp but if you're only good at 1-2 jumps you won't be able to hit other patterns.
- Great aim comes mainly from the muscle memory you acquire with your play zone, sensitivity (if you're a mouse player) monitor height, distance from monitor...etc... Once you find settings and a position you're comfortable with, try not to switch it up too often as it will throw off your aim and force you to reacquire that muscle memory.
- Retry, retry, retry...
General/Mentality
- Mind block is real. If you are consistently missing at the same section over and over again just play a different song and come back to it later. (or if you're weird like me wash your hands and make sure you're wearing socks. You'll mentally get a full gamer reset from doing these
). - Finger/wrist/hand/eye heath is a real thing for this game and should be taken seriously. There was actually a period of time where I overstrained my hand so much that I got nerve damage in my fingers and couldn't play correctly. Be smart and know when it's time to stop playing, this is just a game.
- Don't play the game with the mentality of constantly trying to beat your top play (unless you're really feeling yourself and know you can probably set a top play). I've found that I can actually set more scores and gain pp faster by just playing songs for fun.
- Along with the previous point, the more relaxed you are when you're playing, the better you will perform.
- Add people/find friends who are around your rank or who have a similar playstyle as you. It's good competition to try and beat your friend's scores and can give you a measurement of improvement. add me i play everything!
- I think having a higher acc on any map overall is just a good measurement of proficiency towards that playstyle (whether it be speed, aim, tech...) and improving acc on any particular song is a great sense of progression.
- It it perfectly ok (and I'd even recommend) to decay for a little bit while you work on a mechanic that you're not very good at in order to improve. I literally spent half a year playing nothing but streams maps just so I could be able to stream better (while gaining no rank). It's ok to slow down your rank grind in order to improve.

Homies

- N A R X I S: this dude was one of the first real homies I met on this game. We don't play that much anymore but the amount of multi hours we have is insane. S/O to a real one go France.
- Pose: Super cool dude I met from a multi, also part of the BDIC fam. We always try to one-up each other's scores but I'm convinced that this dude is actually just an under-ranked GOD. He also has some unreal acc that will definitely make him stand out on the leaderboards, once he learns to stop failing the end of songs.
- Bubbasam1: Nutty 4 digit who acts like he isn't good, I mean that 93% wasn't very good but other than that sheesh. Doesn't usually play 4-5* maps so I snipe his scores on those and act like I'm better than him. Part of BDIC as well.
- Broken_Flames: Professional hype man and skin buff magician <3. BDIC.
- A_FUZZLY_WALRUS: hella underrated reading/tech player. Also has really good taste in music/maps and is just a really dope guy overall.
- candytenders: one of the most supportive people i've ever met. Thanks for being a dope friend!
