Huge thanks to my teammates AomDCO, [GS]Thanachot, ERA medium kek & ERA Minikrimi! They are super friendly and supportive and I could not ask for a better team than this!

Comparing to most players I am still bad at everything so I decided to practice sv a load ton so that I can at least make the qualifiers and pray that I get picked. I only played sv during the stages and I believe we won all but one sv match-ups, so I think I did a pretty good job! I will definitely try improving my other skills that’s not sv though, I feel like only playing sv will make me less rounded and less versatile in things like 1v1 or 2v2 tourneys. Don’t get me wrong, I still love sv and will still grind them, I just wish to be able to play maps that are not sv in future tourneys some time.

IMO the tourney is very well held and I think the GF TB is very cool! Didn’t have Paypal stuff so I got 1 month supporter and donated the rest of my winnings to Aom for CS2 prime lmao

Well, that happened.

First of all, thank you Minikrimi for encouraging me to go for this tournament! I have heard of 4dm before then but was definitely not thinking of participating. After Mini told me to give it a try, I went for it and got a decent sv score in the tryouts, and here I am. This is like joining F2 in car racing I think (I know nothing about car racing)

It’s not been so long since GBC so I am still a sv player I guess, so you guessed it, I only played sv in the tourney. We did get seed 18 on sv in qualies, but lost all our sv matchups becuase Mausaa(White Hare) was not available during both of them

Definitely still desperately trying to improve my other skills for sure. For example if my acc is generally higher, I can score higher on sv as well. I kinda want to be able to play non sv maps in matches as well but that will take a while to reach.

The nailbiting tiebreaker with Brazil was so sick though! Even if we have lost, at least we went out with a bang.

Basically 4 rounds of qualifiers where you can play a map only once per qualifier lol

And if you are not good enough, that’s the end of the tournament for you. (which is true for most people)

I feel like I am becoming more and more well rounded which is good!

Got 20th, 31st, 15th, and 9th in S group. I think I did well lmao.

Choked all of the tiebreaker style maps. I can’t play tiebreaker. (actually the second tiebreaker I could do well but keyboard keys broken so bad score moment and I changed keybinds right after yap yap yap)

Maps are very well made and it was fun! Very good practice for people who wants to compete in a tournament style environment (since you do it 4 times). Still not that good at accing LNs but getting better! I kinda noticed my decency to hybrids which is suprising but a welcoming one. Rice, uh, I did pretty well in rice.

Showcase stream died like three times, while the qualifers are the easiest maps out of the entire tournament (they are supposed to be semis difficulty); VERY imbalanced map choices (the difficulty for each pool just does not line up); a third of the people did not show up or forfeited their match; a good portion of the signed up people did not play qualifers; playing Da Jiao Hao for the 30th time in a tournament (personal rant)

at least I got to play SV yay! Learning them is like learning a gd level I enjoy it very much

Reached playoff 2 (skipped PO1 because high undeserved seed lmao)

Basically me sucking at SV and also suffering from a bit of RSI (at least that is what I supposed it is). I could do much better in all of the matches. Particularly not happy about all of my SV scores. Should’ve been #9 instead of #11 in qualies SV (personal rant but 100s hurt a lot); And choking both of the playoff SVs so 950K scores moment.

As for maps thats not SV, it’s either the rice thats too hard for me or LNs thats too hard for me to acc. (Note here in the future, I switched keyboard between qualifiers and playoff 2, so the rust came in, still I would not beat Kirchhoff anyways lmao)

At least I’m getting 15 CNY from xz1z1z, right?

Also I got beaten up by Kirchhoff123, he’s good at smashing keys and SV so go follow!

Got to meet many great CN players irl and it was an awesome experience! Watching the tounament live with actual audiences really enhanced the experience. Like actually everyone gasp at misses or something you know what I mean?

The convention was also very successfully hosted, overall I had a good time there in Shanghai!

Reached finals (second week)

11 player team, with there being 8 teams. Relatively short tournament in terms of time (only 5 weeks (should be 4 but Kururu convention took a weekend))

I really became the SV carry in my team like how lmao, and also I’m like the main powerhouse for B team (check rulebook for info)

My team captain is no other than Kirchhoff123, we pulled a #1 at SV for qualifers lmao

For the second week I did not practice the pool and the match time is at a time when I am unavailable. I was only just there when the conditional match finished and played the friendly tiebreaker. Pretty sure we would’ve won that match if I’m available because it was not a sweep and there were chances. Still, I could not do anything to make myself available since the event I went to was planned well ahead of the tournament. I do feel a little sorry for my teammates, they tried their best.

Still a very fun tourney to play in! Very cool rules and some very cool SV charts!

Wow. I was really not expecting this.

Due to many of the good Spanish players being either retired or unavailable, I managed to find a spot as one of the SV players in my team along with PFC.

Eliminated by Japan, but we WON THEIR SV?? Like how is that possible. We won all our SV matchups btw (only 2 but still). Also #7 on SV qualifiers, sick!

We vibing this year therefore not the best performance in MWC, but hopefully better next year as more people return and more people rise up to become the top players!

Reached Swiss round 2 week 2

Even though I got like seed 50 something out of 90+ for my qualifiers, I still got picked to be a 5th slot XD

I may have sweated too hard for qualifers that I firmly believe I am overseeded.

Basically the tournament which I focused a lot more on SVs, I believe we won all of our SV matchups (I locked in). GBC’s SVs really aren’t that hard until the last pool so I smashed through them. After being eliminated I asked yobrevelc if I can do any replays and successfully got a replay slot for the peultimate pool’s SV1 (I got 990k, still easy).

Our team had plenty of potentials and could reach decently far, though a few things happened so we were out earlier than expected. I will not elaborate this further as it becomes personal.

I did not like the LN1 picks lmao. The SVs, despite being mostly easy, are cool to play!

Still I enjoyed this tournament quite a lot! First time knowing people from the North American community and to play matches with them!

It was a decent tournament, with some scuff. Sort of smashed through the SVs even though we lost some SVs because we hate like 2 specific ones lmao

I think it was our ban pick issue that caused our loss. We lost both games 3:5 so there’s definitely something better that we could do lol

Um I love Touhou so I kind have to be a part of this. With my RDC buds we got this scuffed team where I probably am one of the best LN player XD

Got smashed by basically 4DM 2024 French team. Very unlucky, and I think they are definitely underseeded lmao. It’s probably possible to win one or two points against them, though their skills was just too good to go against.

Kinda fortunate that under such huge competitiveness we can make it pass the qualifiers lmfao

First time being a team captain! I think I did a decent job cheering up my friends and did some decent banpicks.

Alen and I playing the SVs and Storyboards, while everyone except me plays the normal maps XD. The maps are absolutely scuffed and while it’s funny at one perspective, it’s not fun to play at a competitive level. A cool experiment though. Also the SV and SB are absolutely stunning (even the ones that are not custom)

It’s been a while since the tournament but we seeded higher than expected (20! or something), and it’s overall a chill experience. Kinda surprised that we even made it to quarterfinals due to reschedule complexities lol

Technically I’m not Chinese so I can’t really register. But hey I still went to the event and met plenty of cool people! The 10 custom songs and 20 custom maps are cool as fuck man

Also I fucking cleared Malody Dan v3 ex4 + ln13 96.6 at the event which is crazy

So close to winning my first tournament! It’s probably my first and last chance being at the last round of a tournament since I’m incredibly bad at non-SVs and am so lopsided towards the SV gimmick. I did try my best to improve on LN accuracy though (thank you malza you at goated)

Overall despite the heartbreaking loss at the final match it’s plenty of fun and I made great friends SCREAM IF YOU LOVE POLAND

Oh yeah I kinda flopped at 2 of the SVs but no one seems to practice them at the discord division so ggs I kinda carried SV I love SV
