About me

Hi, my name is Miguel and Mella is my lastname. Yes, I know I doxxed myself.

I play osu standard and mania a lot. I don't play a lot of taiko and I fucking hate catch the beat.

I'm in dental school and love music to an unhealthy degree, which is the main reason why I gravitated towards osu!.
I made this account on 2020, one year before I actually started playing because a classmate introduced osu! to me just so we could play multi sometimes.

GAMEMODES

osu! Standard

This is my main gamemode, and probably one of my favourite games of all time. I am no authority, but since I went from 7 digits to 4 digits in around 8 months, I'm always glad to share all of what I have learnt along the way, mostly from trial and error (specially error, so don't be like me and learn from my mistakes)

About Mentality

Believe in yourself, always keep on getting better. The only way to go is up. Don't ever excuse yourself for being bad by saying "playing the game just for fun"... We all play just for fun, but what fun can you have if you suck? Don't you ever say pathetic stuff like "I'm so baaad", independant of your hability or rank. Put your standards up high and live up to them, that's the only way forward.

About Habits

Don't play over 2 hours, it is unhealthy for your eyes, hands, wrists, posture, back, legs, concentration, sleeping schedule, studying, and quite a lot of other health related issues. If you have to improve at one skill in particular don't overdo just one map, you WILL get mindblocked and will do more harm than good.
Don't drink energy drinks, they will make you sloppy, unable to aim and stream propperly, and after 30 minutes you will play awfully.

About Improving

Everyone has their own pace, however consistency is key. In the end it doesn't matter how many hours you play each session, what trully matters is frequency, consistency and how much you learn each session. A bad way to assess improvement is trying to farm, while some good ways are to try to pass maps once unpassable, higher star ratings, consistency on multi lobbies, etc.

About Lag

This gamemode's lag is not trully awful, but it sure as hell is the one I hate the most. The one and only advice I can give you is to try to understand the lag you suffer because it can be one where the notes appear weird, or one where it eats your imputs. I suffer both. Understand lag and coexist with it, don't blame it when you can tame it. This is coming from someone whose top plays were all under laggy circumstances.

About the Community

This is trully a wonderful community, so try to keep it that way. This doesn't mean there are no cunts along the way. If you have to don't doubt and stand up for yourself. Be respectful and mindful of others. I have made my fair share of mistakes just by being an overpowered cunt. Don't be like me.

Don't ever forget that this is just a game, and your life awaits you out there.

The easiest gamemode out of the 4, no skill needed for it whatsoever. Just pattern memorization and fast fingers.
This gamemode has the best fucking songs.
I trully do not care much about taiko, but it never stops being fun to play.
The community has both the worst and best people I have met in this game
