Hi everyone reading this. As you can tell, I am DS96 here to give you a warm welcome. I am going more and more towards mapping for CtB and modding this year. The songs I will be mapping won't be the first catchy thing I hear, but something that relates to me (like my Hirari, Hirari mapset). If I get a pm, I will always try to answer it if I can. Hope all those I care about are safe and always remember you are only as good as you believe you are at the game. Just because you don't have a high rank or any mapset ranked does not mean you are bad, just learning.

Also - due to random people - I do ask questions. If I make you uncomfy, let me know because my goal is not to do that, but to help out people, especially the younger community and those I care about. I ask them so I can get to know you as a person and not just another random player to the game.

If I am online, I am always willing to help with an issue (map related relies on my internet connection and if I have said map if you want any sort of mod) all you have to do is send me a pm. Don't be a stranger and don't beat around the bush if you want something (yea, a quick chat before you ask for a mod is nice, but if I am not doing anything just ask for one. Most I will accept or at least take a look at the map) and especially don't beat around the bush if you are having an issue and need to talk (i.e you want to kill yourself). Those issues I will try my best to put all my effort to focus on you and to help you (and if I go dead to everyone without responding to any PM's this is probably why. I will still look at your PM's and respond when needed). I don't even care if you use my PM to vent if you need to, just send me a quick message saying what you are doing so I don't take it the wrong way.

I do play all game modes if you want to do multi. CtB is my primary game mode and would prefer multies in that game mode.

I play to have fun. For me, I don't really care about the rank you are (too much competition) level or your experience level in the game, if you want to play just let me know. If you're high level/rank, I don't mind playing hard/insane maps with you in multi as long as if we're playing teams, the other team doesn't fail in 5 seconds or so. Odds are I won't beat you, but right now I'm learning all the maps I have and multi is a great way for me to do that.

If you want to play multi with me, just send me an invite or a pm if you don't know how to make it. If I can't join (maybe I'm in a multi, grinding or mapping) I'll either send an invite to you or just try to make some time later/next time you're on.

Last but not least, I don't care if you're a noob that just got the game or a high ranking person. For noobs, if I pick a song that's too hard or you, just let me know and I'll change. For higher ranking people, if I pick a suicide map, please let me know.

I'm decent at the game, nowhere near the best, but if you want to spectate me, I don't mind. If I see someone spectating, I'll occasionally talk to you. I'll do requests if you want me to, but mods are to my discretion if I put them on or not for a particular song if you request them. Requests I do via the timestamp that it was posted. If you leave, I'll skip your request. If you spam and give me like 5 or so songs back to back/same time, odds are I won't really want to do them and ignore you if there is more than one person spectating. I will also try to get it so most/all of the people spectating have that map I'm doing unless they are ok with downloading maps/sitting out for the map.

If I am spectating you and you want no spectators/me not to spectate, please just tell me. I will quit spectating you as soon as I read the message.

Any/all advice is greatly appreciated. Also, I don't mind the occasional cuss, but if I go through the chat and see that your language would make a pirate blush, odds are you're going to be reported and silenced. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.

I am learning how to mod Rain, Overdose and Deluge and I do mod primarily in editor. What does this mean and how does it affect my mod? This means I will watch your map play while I am in editor so I can spot inconsistencies in your map. Any inconsistencies I spot I will mention in my mod. You might be wondering why I do it this way and not just testplay your map for my mod. When I testplay, things do not really stand out to me and - while in editor - if something sounds off, I can check it right when I notice it. If you have any questions about modding/mapping though, I can at least point you to where you need to look or be if I don't know the answer.

I try to provide my reasons why I suggest a change in your map when I post it on the forum or when I send you a message via ingame pm. I do not mind if the song is following the vocals, beat or both, just as long as it's following something and not random. If the mod is above my head, I will still give my recommendations before I abandon the map though and explain why it's above my head at the time (life might be going on and I can't do the mod anymore). I am still learning how to mod so I may overlook something when I give you suggestions. For hitsounds I will only go as far as "it sounds too harsh" or "doesn't make sense" in areas. If I mod, I will at least look over your map after any changes have been made to make sure I didn't miss anything in my first mod. If you do not like my feedback on the forum, please tell me why so I can learn from it and become a better modder myself.

If I give something simple (i.e. the name is x, not y. AR should be x, not y. Preview point should be here. etc.) please don't give a kudos to me. Only give me a kudos only if you feel like I have improved your map. Also, if I shoot a kudos at your map, odds are I won't mod it and vice-versa. I feel that shooting a kudos should be on maps that I feel are worthy of being ranked and has had the time and effort put into it to be ranked. I just feel shooting a star on one I just modded isn't right unless I feel like the map is fully done.

It's fairly simple to get me to mod one of your maps. I have #osu #ctb #osumania #taiko #help #modhelp #modreqs #announce and #lobby open when I start so you know where to find me. But I do have a few simple rules in how to get me to mod your map.
1. Use the appropriate channel to get help with a mod. If it's on the wrong channel I will ignore
2. Pick a good preview point. I have over 61k maps on my osu. I am a supporter so if it doesn't catch my attention when I preview it, I will not go any further (this even applies to songs I love. Pick a crappy preview point and I will not attempt to mod)
3.Let me know what you are looking for when I ask (i.e. BPM and offset, visually appealing, timing of notes, etc.) or I will not go into the map
4. Be polite. If you aren't, you will probably not get another mod from me for a while and I might just end my mod on your map
5.Understand that your map is not the only map I am modding or creating. It will take me maybe a half an hour minimum (for now) to go through the song twice (first to see if BPM and offset is right along with how visually appealing it is. Second to actually mod)
6. Do not spam me if I don't have your map modded in a day. I have a life and other things to do on osu also. If you spam me about the map, I will abandon my mod on it.
7.You are always welcomed to a different opinion on modding. In fact, I encourage it because having multiple people look at your map is the best way to get every flaw out of it and get it ranked/approved.

If you want to talk to me via facebook/Skype, I really don't mind if A.) We've had at least a conversation on osu!. B.) We're a least a mutual friend (just let me know if you friend me). C.) I don't get a random message from reenndlsadfjlk saying that we've played on osu!. Without your username, I'll ignore because I don't know who you are. D.) If we do social media, I'm still DragonSlayer96 and you're still <insert username> when we play.

The only exceptions to this is if I am helping mod your map or I am doing a guest for you/you are doing one for me so we can keep a line of communication open just in case something happens.

Rank is a way so you know how you are against the rest of the osu! community. A lot of people use this (and level) to compete. Also, when used in multi, it can help you get people around your skill level.

For me, the rank that you have means nothing more than a silly competition. Yes, I want to grind and get my rank up so I'm at least in the top 5k for all the modes, but that's just my competitive side.

The rank on the songs on the other hand (for me at least) shows a more concrete way of showing you how well you are in the osu! community. After a while, you should be able to get in the top 1k in the ranks and (eventually) top 50. After you start to get into the top 50's consistently (country then globally), good job for you. You are now getting to be a decent player in whatever game mode you picked
