Frequently Asked Questions

Q. Do you have any tips to improve?
A. I have no special tip or trick, really. Just keep playing, and challenge yourself. Play stuff you can actually make sense of, but still challenges you, and you're on the right track. Also, if you play using a mouse, turn mouse acceleration OFF (on a Windows OS, disable "Enhance Pointer Precision" in mouse settings)

Q. Have you played tablet before?
A. Yeah. I have a Wacom Bamboo, but I used it for my studies mostly, only using it for osu! very very occasionally. I'm nowhere near as good when using a tablet, and I'm happy enough with mouse.

Q. How do you deal with mouse drift? / Losing grip?
A. It's a subconscious thing, I can't really explain it. I just shuffle it during some form of break if it goes out of wack. It happens to us all, we all deal with it our own way.

Q. What kind of mouse grip do you use?
A. I use a claw grip!

Q. I'm so slow! How do I get speed?
A. Getting faster is a somewhat physical thing, so it requires training (e.g. practice!). Play streams more, and you will gradually get faster, I promise you. Keep your fingers loose, and just keep going!

Q. What DPI / sensitivity should I use? Is low / high DPI better?
A. It's all preference. I use quite a high DPI (1500), but players like AmaiHachimitsu and cptnXn use a low DPI. Use whichever one is comfortable for you.

Q. Couldn't you have just answered the above questions with "play more"?
