Hey they, ImproveMint here!
I'm quitting the game.
I've been active in this game since the start of the pandemic until grade 11-ish when I started to focus more on schoolworks. Sadly, I've got myself involved with some goofy shenanigans which got me a girlfriend believe it or not, and I am still focused on academics than the funny goofy circle clicking rhythm game.
I got introduced to the game from my cousin back when I was like 6 or 7 years old on a this map and got back into it when pandemic happened. It became a game I played alongside Genshin at the time, and I got into such a great community in this time I had. From the MFs in HamCosu's channel, medal hunters of osekai, and the mappers I've interacted with, I genuinely do appreciate all of your contributions to the omega washed life I had, and despite how weird it may sound like, y'all definitely helped me go through shit 🙏🙏🙏
What started out as a want to improve reaction time and speed turned to be a great musical intimacy developed through this silly little game, and I really do mean it in the most serious manner. I couldn't become the same person as I am today in the absence of osu!
Although, I still want to continue playing this game, I really want to focus on academics first, as I really do believe it is the no. 1 priority out of everything I have. So everything must come to an end, and pull off the life support on my dying passion for osu! as the addition of school pressure and the lack of time really did affect me.
I can still respond to map and player feedbacks though, but the response may be delayed for a couple of business weeks :trollface:, and I will still reply in discord messages when the time presents itself as well. Just note that I won't touch the game again for the time being.
So yeah, that's all I guess
See you next time 🫡🫡🫡.

ALSO I JUST WANTED TO DELETE THE GAME SO I HAVE MORE STORAGE SO YEAH
Before I go though there is a hotkey script that I've been using during my mapping days, which is quite efficient once you get the hang of it
You need to download AutoHotkey first though so you are able to use the script itself — you can use something like Notepad++ if you'd like once you have AutoHotkey available
Shortcuts:
H = Horizontal Flip
J = Vertical Flip
. = Rotate 90°; right
, = Rotate 90°; left
` = Rotate
shift + ` = Scale
J = Vertical Flip
. = Rotate 90°; right
, = Rotate 90°; left
` = Rotate
shift + ` = Scale
Note:
You have to press shift + ` pretty fast or the scaling feature won't function correctly
You have to change the osuPath in the .ahk itself, again you can use Notepad++ for this — just make sure that the path is going to your osu!'s .exe file
^^ Entire guide for this is found HERE (just make sure to follow what the text is saying)
[Quick note, if the game gives you an error on the 5th line, that means there's two pairs of "s that you need to remove before it actually works in the osuPath part]
All shortcuts works outside of osu! (so you can use it in discord or in the website discussion page) other than ,s for some reason. You can try and fix that with gpt or some coding shit I don't know but its a lot more effort to handle :kekw:
You can TECHNICALLY add more shortcuts if you like, but the process is quite goof unless you can use gpt (still unreliable) or you have coding experience ig :shrug:
No, THIS IS NOT a crypto mining, trojan breaking, game restricting (at least from what I know) script that I use. It is PURELY used for mapping purposes and to help with the quality of life by providing more accessible and easier shortcuts for mapping. It does not help me with anything else other than its intended use of mapping.
CHECK OUT THESE DUDES THEY ARE GOOFY AND FUNNY
Tips
Rhythm
1. Humming to the song gives you the general rhythm of the song
2. Doing tip 1 also gives you the main instrument as well
3. ACTIVE AND PASSIVE RHYTHM IS IMPORTANT!1!1!1
> Active rhythm = more impactful
> Objects uses this rhythm on Circles and slider HEADS
> Passive Rhythm = less impactful
> Objects uses this rhythm on Spinners and slider TAILS/ENDS
4. USE ACTIVE RHYTHM ON IMPORTANT SOUNSD!1!11
5. USE PASSIVE RHYTHM ON ANYTHIGN ELSE I GUESS
6. Usually, songs keep a 1/2 gap between objects and that can be used as a guideline on rhythm
7. There is USUALLY a clap/snare sound on the 2nd and 4th beats ( the small white lines ), this changes depending on the song's bpm
8. Using tip 7 as a way to find bpm can also be used due to the consistent nature of the clap/snares
9. If you have the correct bpm, the main instrument's sounds are usually on the red and white ticks
2. Doing tip 1 also gives you the main instrument as well

Visuals
1. Blankets is a really easy visual idea for sliders and other objects
> Blankets = A slider covering/rotating around an object
2. Using geometric shapes ( like triangles and squares ) on object elements ( specifically sliders ) can be used to "organize" objects more easier
3. MAKE SURE OBJECTS ARE NOT OVERLAPPING!11!11
> This can be ignored if the overlaps are done consistently
4. Learning Hexgrid actually makes you more aware about your object placements and relation
> Hexgrid = basically what you visualize as a bee hive's holes, or the funny symbols on a soccer ball
5. Sliders should be angled slightly
> Blankets = A slider covering/rotating around an object

Gameplay
1. SHARP ANGLES > WIDE ANGLES :speaking: :fire:
> Sharp angle = Comfortable, wide angle = uncomfortable
>This is more of a personal opinion but basically, I prefer sharp angles because they're a comfortable movement that I do
2. Slider Implied Movement is actually one of the easier flow ideas
> This is basically idea where the next object should be on the general direction of the slider's direction ( if slider points at top left, next object should be around that area, you get the deal )
3. Changing Beat snap divisor to 1/2 lets the objects placed by doing Ctrl + Shift + D on red and white ticks, and from tip 9 for rhythm, those are the sounds that usually has a sound

Mentors :
Nevo 05/03/2023 - 06/06/2023
Nevo has done so much for me and I'm really really REALLY grateful to be his mentee and improve my mapping from him, I never really expected to be his mentee in the mentorship program but I got picked which really took me by surprise, I will never forget this experience and thanks to him my mapping improved a lot
