ESSENCE OF BREAK META.
I genuinely think this is the only reason I've literally ever improved at the game (which means this isn't a general thing don't do this if it doesn't work).
Consistency? What the hell is that? I play difficult maps for one session and then do nothing for five days! THIS IS THE ESSENCE OF THE BREAK META.
Basically, I hit an extremely hard skill wall back in October of 2025. I was pushing to clear Alpha since it was the only thing encouraging me to step out of the comfort bubble I had been playing in for over a year at that point. But no matter what I did, I fumbled every single map I tried to play.
A rank, next day, A rank, next day, A rank. 93.2, 93.4, 93.1, 92.9, every day felt like I was rehearsing the same session over and over. I felt so close to just giving up on the game... until, I stopped playing it.
I took like, a four day break from doing anything remotely difficult. Sure, I hopped onto the game, but the only thing I did was FC easy maps and meddle around. Just happy to be there. Suddenly, I had the urge to try out those insane, impossible maps I was pushing on last week.
95. 97. 96. S ranks everywhere. reflec 0.88, destroyed. WE EAT AT FIVE FIVE FIVE 1.2x, destroyed. Trickstarz, absolutely brutalized.
Tech, Odoru 1.1x, mangled. Jack, Dark Sambaland, eaten like breakfast. Lazorbeams, stamina wasn't even a word to me. Makiba, I absolutely loathed it, but an S rank came my way nevertheless. Then, after realizing the magnitude of my discovery, I cleared Alpha with a 97.00.
Why? It's not because of constant pushing and locking in, it's because I sat on my fat ass for half a week playing Cyber Inductance. This, is break meta. Do nothing. Improve. Win.
Luminal: 91% on Gengaozo, didn't do shit for a day, next morning comes around: S rank.
Blue planet 94%, I thought it was my limit. Did nothing for a few days, next try, clean S rank.
Mario Paint is literally just luck, waited for my chance, cashed in the jackpot with my 95.4%.
Image Material? Lazed around after my first shot ending with a 94. Came back and got a 96%, stealing a clear from a baby.
Tried the dan, 95.6%. Did nothing, barely practiced the maps because I hated literally all of them. Just had fun and made YouTube videos. Lazed around. Fat loser style. Came back, 95.8%. Okay, let's do a bit more lazing. Bang, 96.2% (only because I got lucky on Mario Paint).
Not even limited to Dans, either. At the time of me posting this I just had my first difficulty-centered session in months. What did I do beforehand? Nothing. No significant pushing, just doing osu!completion and screwing around. Guess what, Crescent Moon Island S rank. I beat my 0.95x accuracy on base rate by doing absolutely nil. Matusa Bomber 1.1x 94%, I hadn't played tech in like, 3 weeks.
Be like Luigi. Do nothing, excel, and watch as your life comes together in a spectacular fashion.

Mindset
I'm a pretty goal-oriented person, I like the feeling of checking off a list of things, eventually finishing something I once thought was impossible.
I play for improvement and fun, since they go hand in hand for me. I don't enjoy farming that much because a lot of the time I don't feel like I'm gaining anything aside from ranks (and be real, what do ranks even mean anymore >.>)
Whenever I have a bad VSRG day, underperforming like crazy, I get really disappointed in myself. But both you and I have to remember that you can't be at 100% every single day, forever. I see a lot of people get super down about having bad days, saying they'll never be good at the game ever again, but I know for a fact that they're lying, and they know it.
Back in mid-2025, I barely even played the game, or at least I was way more inactive than I used to be. And whenever I return to the game to set a few scores, I would notice that my skill had significantly diminished from June 2024, my peak at the time. I really did feel like it was over for me, that I would never improve again, demotivating me into not playing, which was the problem.
Eventually I started to set scores way more often than I had, determined to regain the skill I had lost over my months of inactivity. First I beat my PB on FUTURE DOMINATORS, then I beat my PB on Japanese Transformation, and I even set a new PB on FUTURE DOMINATORS 1.1x, something I had been trying to do for 14 months at that point. A new best on AiAe, Galaxy Collapse, everything I wanted to do in the game, I was doing it.
Why am I telling you this though? It's because I wanted to show that even when you feel like you can't get anywhere, you can. If you're determined enough, and don't take things too seriously, I feel like you'll be able to do anything that you put your mind to.
In other words...
play more lol

Mapping Style
Now I'm not an experienced mapper, or a rookie one, or a novice one at that. I might have over 20 graveyarded beatmaps on my profile, but the vast majority of them are either jokes, or not finished. Though I do think I'm starting to find my very own style of mapping.
Usually whenever I map a song, fun comes first. Sure, the best way that I COULD represent this part of the song is a thirteen note longjack, but that isn't very fun to play, is it? I always try and make sure that the patterns in my maps aren't completely braindead, but aren't uncomfortable either.
This doesn't mean I completely disregard music representation though. I'm a very avid patch-mapper, and I always try and represent as much of the song as I possible can when I map, which leads to my patterns looking and playing very odd. Which leads me into the next part of this blurb...
The main type of map I enjoy charting is Tech. I. firetruckING. Love tech, so much. Almost every tech map I've played eventually ends up becoming one of my favorite maps of all time, and I want to try and spread that through mapping it myself.
My favorite type of tech is usually more on the end of Speed or LN-oriented tech instead of Jack-oriented, because I hate chordjacks. So I map that, well, when I get off my ass and map in the first place.
My ultimate goal with mapping is to try and get something ranked. It's a really generic goal, and might even seem droll to others, but it's what I want to do. The thought of there being a competitive (not really) leaderboard on something that I've made, being able to see IN REAL TIME people playing my map. It seems so magical to me.
Also, I get a medal if I FC my own ranked map, want that too.
