Don't follow big players' steps, you don't want to grow on the shadow of someone bigger, you wanna grow big on your own to tell your own stories.
Don't go thinking you're trash just because people are better or get better faster than you.
There is no such thing as "natural talent", everything in life is practice, it just changes how much from people to people.
The training someone did to become good might not work for you.
If you're stuck on a rank, it doesnt mean you're not improving, it means you're improving at the same rate as everyone else (that's still improving).
If you find joy in difficult maps, you won't even need to train that much.
Play what you want, get better at what you want, not what others think you should. (see owc 2018 story below)

playstyle switch log

13/11/2018 - i realized that if i play high bpm on my style of tapping, my shoulder gets hurt really bad, so i'm trying to change playstyle to keep my wrist on table (it hurts aswell, but idk if its nerve damage or muscle fatigue)
14/11/2018 - realized that, most likely, its an inflamation of the Juncturae tendinum between middle and ring finger, so i'm trying to change main finger to index (still playing wrist down)
30/11/2018 - other than still damaging my shoulder, i wasn't having fun playing, so i've decided to learn how to alternate now (wrist up)
08/12/2018 - ALTERNATING MASTER RACE WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

my owc 2018 story

2018 was the best year for me to make it to owc, i was almost 3-digit on the beginning of the year and looked motivated to give it all and conquer it all. But i fell into the trap of "there's a lot of time, it'll be fine", so i began practicing only 1-2 months before owc.
Untill then, it was actually fine if i just practiced what i liked and got better at what i was already good, which were HD, aim and consistency picks (eventually becoming the best), but i worried myself with becoming an all-around player (i don't really know why) and got WAAAAAAAAY more worried about my speed than i should. Thing is, my reputation at the time of sign ups for owc was "he's consistant but has no speed", so i was like "fuck, i gotta fix that", and by consequence, i didnt become the best at what i liked and didnt even get to owc level of speed because i fucked up my shoulder (see playstyle switchlog).
