My Post-5WC Thoughts
People often say after tournaments of this scale that they have a lot to improve on as a player— It's definitely a real sentiment.
This was my first 5WC debut— and my inexperience as a captain really showed through. There were a lot of times where I felt I was very indecisive, not confident, or failed to communicate my intentions clearly— and I'd like to think that's something I can work on in the future. It's silly; from an outside perspective, it really does look like our team is doing well! But I was always told that I was capable of coming up with better plans for everyone, so I would be lying if I said I didn't feel disappointed knowing that I couldn't utilize my game plan as nicely as people would've liked (even if I wasn't the original captain and had to step up for the role midway).
As a player though, I am satisfied with my performance for my debut year— I felt myself improving over time and getting more comfortable as I played more with my team. I've definitely had my lows, but I've had my highs as well— and even then, that won't still take away from the fact that I know I can do better in the future. I've gained some very valuable experience from this run overall— a lot of lessons about how I approach things both in and out of the game, be it small or big. So I'll keep using what I've learned to grow even more as a player <3
For now, I'll hold up my head high— as a certain someone would often put it. I hope Malaysia will be able to band together even more and come back stronger next year! I really want to see us finally succeed on the international stage one day, regardless of how big that stage is. Personally, it really has been a pleasure getting to play for 5WC this year. If I don't see myself popping off anytime soon, I hope I will be here for next year's iteration at least— I am more than happy to keep driving our potential contenders forward, w.

Personal Goals
1) Set my first 500.
I have faith in myself to pull it off eventually- it's just a matter of when & what map I will do it on! I have plenty of options for this particular goal.
2) Set my first 7* FC.
I'm not sure when this one will happen. My FC consistency is all over the place, but I've been getting better at overcoming this particular problem after training with tournament pools.
3) Fix and clean my top play list.
There are a lot of top plays that I want to go back to and start going over— either by cutting miss count, improving accuracy or even FCing altogether. I'll aim to get 99.00% for now!
4) Hone my tournament skills.
I think, for now, I'm quite happy with my progress in this endeavour. I still have a lot more to improve as a tournament player, but the fact that I can perform out of my comfort zone now is a good sign of things to come, especially since I used to be a HD one-trick. <3
5) Improve my tapping and finger control ability at high BPM (≥230 BPM).
I think it's quite clear now that speed is one of my weakest skillsets. I'd really like to push myself to improve on this; maybe I'll dedicate myself to fixing my tapping technique soon?
