I use Stable client because it stays true to the original goal, but as osu! transitions to Lazer, these rules create some guidelines to avoid confusion.

1. HD,DT/NC,HR,FL must be used.
2. SD/PF is allowed but not required.
3. No difficulty-decreasing mods.
4. (Lazer-specific) Classic mod is permitted.
5. (Lazer-specific) Difficulty Adjust is allowed only if I'm increasing difficulty.
6. (Lazer-specific) Other mods can be used as long as the above criteria have been met.
7. Rules are subject to change as osu! becomes Lazer-ified.
