Gaming history:
osu! isn't the first rhythm game I've played, nor the first video game I've committed to playing seriously - read more about my past gaming experience below!
Guitar Hero & Drums
>Started playing Guitar Hero when GH3 was first released (2007), started playing Expert level by mid 2008
>Started playing Rock Band and drums in late 2008 - Expert level by 2009
>Roland TD-6 electric drumkit with Pearl P-100 twin double kick pedals (Expert+ mode in game) - played Guitar Hero A LOT alongside being a CoD pubstomper (part of OverPowered YT clan)
Achieved Drums Career Leaderboards top 10 ranks (Xbox 360):
>GH:WT - top 10 (I think)
>GH:M - #6
>GH:SH - #5
>GH:VH - #5
Many #1 global scores (drums) on different songs on each game
As well as playing GH drums, I also had GH3 on PC (this was pre-Clone Hero days) with custom songs installed via GHTCP - so I practiced GH guitar on PC with songs often far harder than the stock songs, and only Expert was charted.
I do have Clone Hero on my PC currently, as well as a few guitars in various states of working order - so I do still play occasionally but only for fun.

Call of Duty Multiplayer
First CoD MP game was WaW - went back to play Cod4 before MW2 came out.
MW2 - THIS WAS THE SHIT!! Everyone has mad nostalgia from those days, we did everything - sniping, rust 1v1s, pub matches, competitive, boosting, spawntrapping etc. The game was broken af but everything was OP so nobody cared, until the noob-tubes got noticed...
BO1 - some people didn't like it as much as MW2 as it felt laggier in general (Theater mode), but I didn't mind it (I was used to shitty ping anyway). This is the game where I got my first Turtlebeach headset and really started tryharding. I got my first account to max prestige and a 1.9kd eventually (with almost 100k kills) - although by the end, on other accounts I had a 2-3kd.
MW3 - I would say this was my best game, I played the shit outta this with so many people via a cool new site at the time called Twitch.tv - as well as YouTube, Forums (7Sins etc.) to party up and pubstomp as many noobs as possible. I ran the specialist package almost exclusively, whilst rushing around for MOABs (500+ at this point - 3.7kd average). I also started making CoD gameplay/commentaries around this kinda time which helped me improve my speaking abilities and my confidence greatly. They are still public for those who want to track them down for a laugh!
I also wanna give a shout-out to my main wingman from back then, Stephen C aka. Ps Swagg - kept me sane for many a night on 2v2s and in parties, big love bro <3
BO2 - In many ways, for me this game is comparable to MW3 - Treyarch's golden goose. There were some real issues at the start (as there was for pretty much every CoD game tbh) leading me to go back to MW3 for quite a lot of BO2s life-span, but I did get to Master Prestige (twice!) and get some good gameplays/nuclears (HC Dom was epic) before Ghosts came out... Oh yeah, I also got the World's Fastest TDM Win (at the time) which was pretty cool.
Ghosts - The less said about that game the better... (campy campy boring game)
Needless to say I went back to BO2/MW3 not long after release.
Advanced Warfare - The CoD killer, for me at least. This was the game that made me realise old school CoD was never coming back, and I've not played CoD seriously since it came out. I had recently moved into my first student flat in the city and was getting back into Runescape at the time. I guess I had just grown out of it...
I do still have the older CoD games on PC which I play on the odd occasion, usually for mods or the likes.
And no - MW19 is not the saviour, or even close to it for that matter.

Runescape (RS3)
Made my first account June 2006 - aged 9
Got hacked, made new account (current) late-July 2006
Played a fair bit after school with friends, did a lot of fishing and woodcutting - usual 2006/7 stuff
Quit playing when I started high school, 2008
Started playing again in early 2014 (continued on my old account), took it easy at first but slowly got into playing it more often
Moved to Edinburgh Sept 2014 (uni) - had a lot of free time (video games), mainly played CoD multiplayer and GH to start but got more into RS as time went on
Maxed stats on 31st October 2015 - then went to a H'ween party IRL and met my 1st gf
Post-max, enjoyed slaying and bossing - took a break before going for completionist cape (did most of 120 Thieving in Prif)
Started doing completionist stuff (quests mainly for unlocks) a few months or so after thieving burnout
Completionist Cape acquired for the 1st time 22 April 2017, as well as 1b total XP, 120 invention and 120 thieving!
Post-comp, did a lotta combat - solo PvM (on aura) and slayer for 120 and re-comp after the amnesty period ended
Got 120 slayer (as well as a few other skills) and re-comped late 2017 (before my old PC died I think?) - I had moved apartments a few times and was on a back-up laptop which couldnt run RS very well... On top of this, I was really getting into osu! and started working full time in April 2018, so I realised that my RS days were probably over as I didn't have the time to sink into the game as I once did.
I don't regret playing RS as I really enjoyed the time I spent in-game, gaining the accomplishments I did and hanging out with some really cool people in the community. Although, in hindsight - I probably shoulda spent more time learning stuff and enjoying the world when I was a student.
Screenshot of my final stats I UNQUIT!!
Speaking to Hans in June 2020
Started playing again March 2021 - 200m Archaeology achieved 29/6/21!
I quit again for a while between mid-2022 and early 2024, but getting back into it again! You never truly quit RuneScape, you just take really long breaks...

As much as I love osu! standard - I don't think I'll be playing it as seriously as I have done in the past, mainly due to RSI in my aim hand (gamer's thumb) and I don't want to mess my hands up long-term. I might still map when I feel like it, but idk about going for ranked on anything - sounds stressful lmao.
After getting my hands on a CTL-472 recently (Nov 2021) the pen is a lot smaller allowing me to play std a bit more, at least for now - will play it slow and build up again tohopefully not injure myself again RSI got worse, had to quit for good.

osu! (taiko)
KDDK - keybinds (index/ring): a c , ;
Resolution - 1440x1080 (1680x1050 for fast NM/DT)
I have always been interested in learning taiko - but was too hooked on o!std to commit to it seriously
Always found the reading aspect the hardest, as right -> left is unnatural to me (especially on 60hz)
240hz makes this a lot easier on the eyes, but still strains them after a short while...
>April 2020: Decided to get 5 digit in all gamemodes - #50k taiko (955 total pp)

This is where I took a break from Taiko for a while to focus on work/life and playing a bit of osu!standard as my RSI was healing, which may have been a mistake cos its back again as of right now
Oh yeah, and Runescape 3...
Started playing again mid-June 2021, this time focusing on learning how to properly read mixed patterns instead of farming high OD converts for pp (for the most part...) using Taiko maps with "Oni" difficulties, starting at low bpm (130-150) and working my way up. A really good practice map initially was this.
Since then, I've been trying to play through as many maps as possible for ranked score & practice - slowly increasing the SR to maps with patterns I struggle to hit consistently. Most Oni maps feel comfortable except the high bpm ones (>200bpm - which I'll start playing as my speed improves) so I'm now working through Inner Oni and trying to get good at reading mixed streams with non-standard patterns (kkkddkddd etc.)
My favourite Inner Oni map so far that I used for practice as a scrub is this, - WHICH I FINALLY FCED!!
1B RANKED SCORE ACHIEVED 12/01/2022
Switched to index/middle again to make singletapping easier - Keybinds changed to D C , L
3 DIGIT RANKED SCORE ACHIEVED (1,547m score) 22/4/2022
Peak rank (non-bugged): #733 (25/09/2024)
Peak country rank: #20 (05/12/2023)
Peak ranked score rank: #79 (current)
