About
Many people discuss skins, surfaces, and hardware.
I’ve been playing with a tablet since 2011.
First the CTH-460, since 2025 the CTL-4100WL.
Both still work to this day.
[Images 1 & 2 below – back sides / models, context & age]

They do have one thing in common though:
I’ve worn both of them down in exactly one single spot.
[Images 3 & 4 – CTH-460: years of contact wear + squared-off pen nib]

Started with contact, then switched to hover due to wear.
In 2025, back to contact: smaller area, more precision.
Result: same effect.
After roughly 15 days at about 12 hours per day, a clear hotspot again.
The nib was no longer round, but squared.
[Image 5 below – CTL-4100WL: same wear despite a newer tablet]

So I didn’t change the tablet.
I changed my thinking.
I put an old card on top.
Ice-smooth surface. Tablet protected. Nib protected.
Over 20 days now with more stable gameplay than ever before.

No, I’m not a 5-digit.
No, I don’t farm.
And yes, I lose ranks – gladly.
Skill doesn’t come from perfect hardware.
It comes from commitment, endurance, and frustration tolerance.
You play with what you have.
Excuses wear out faster than any nib.
