Mapping
I consider myself a mapper from beginner to medium level.
I do not intend to live by making maps. I do it just for leisure and fun. If I'm aware that I have a map that looks really good, I try to get mods to rank it.
I have a very negative view of the mapping community, seeing that new mappers are going through a lot of difficulty and have almost ZERO of support from veteran mappers. While there are mappers who have privileges.
A short list of types of maps/music that I like to play/map
-Rap/Hip-Hop
-Electronic
-Video Game/Movie Soundtrack
-Orchestral/Classic Music
-Lapfox Trax
-Animes (just my favorites)
-Vaporwave/Synthwave/RetroWave
-Lofi
List of maps I hate and avoid playing or mapping
-Love Live
-Vocaloid
-Music with Japanese singer with a squirrel voice like Haitai, Sedan Life, Hime Hime, Harumachi Clover...
-Generic Sotarks "1,2,1,2,1,2" and cut ver. maps
-JPop boring
I have my own mod queue, but it is abandoned in the limbo of the forum. Maybe I'll come back, or not.
When looking for mods, what I expect from mappers is to help me improve the map. It seems obvious, but not everyone understands. Just writing things like "It's ugly, re-map it!", "These patterns look weird", "Move this 1 pixel circle", "The anchor of this slider (single anchor) must be centered" doesn't help...
What I appreciate is when the mapper looks for a solution, it is specific when pointing out the problem, and understand the idea that I want to pass on the map and he wants to improve it, instead of ignoring it by giving meaningless mods.
