Eroge/Visual Novel Recommendations for People Who Don't Know Where to Start
Eroge:
- Katawa Shoujo - it's a baby step for those who are new to venturing visual novels. It's a passion project made by a community of like-minded people. It's a bit outdated, with it being more than a decade since the start of its creation, so it's art might not be everyone's cup of tea. Its story, characters, and ost are really great and done with care.
- Making*Lovers - it's a relatively short vn. Its route system is so fast because the common route is really short. You'll soon find yourself pursuing the girl you eye'd on, in just an hour or so. The heroines are pretty quirky and the dialogue is pretty funny (as expected from Smee). The art is pretty great, and the use of sound effects has a nice emphasis on all comedic scenes.
- Ao no Kanata no Four Rhythm - it's a relatively long vn, I clocked in at around 45 hours reading it. Everything about this vn is just nice, although the romance part of the story could really use a bit more polishing. Aokana as a whole is just a great recommendation if you're looking for great art, fun characters, 'action-packed' scenes, and absolute banger osts. I can't believe it made me so invested in a fictional sport lmao.
- Wagamama High Spec - it's a fairly light-hearted vn accompanied by great visuals. It's not the best vn out there but it's a great starting point for new vn readers because it's not a long series to finish. The characters are endearing and there's also an imouto route (if you're into that). Overall, it's a decent read.
- Newton to Ringo no Ki - it's a fairly long vn that features a waifu version of Sir Isaac Newton. The premise sounds really dumb but you're in for a good treat if you ever read this. The art, ost, characters, as well as the fun story is surely worth your time. It's a good first series for new vn readers.
- Koi to Senkyo to Chocolate - it's a bit on the shorter side when it comes to reading. If you're planning to read this, be sure to get the hires version available online. But if you don't care about reading on a smaller window, the original one is more than viable. Koichoco will always stay in my heart as a good read because of the story, characters, and ost. I just love the synergy between each characters especially during group conversations; and every route features them in an array of different ways. Would recommend.
- Hoshi Ori Yume Mirai - easily one of my favourite vns of all time. It's way too good. Everything is done correctly, so many memorable moments, and damn are all the characters so charming. The production is really high quality and reading it for the first time was just an experience I wish to relieve again. Natsuki has to be my favourite character though but they're all so close on snagging the top spot honestly.
Visual Novels: - Steins;Gate - absolute kino piece of literature. It's really long so be prepared for a ride. I can't even explain why Steins;Gate is good without dropping spoilers so just read it yourself. It's a hell of an experience to read, I'd pay to get an amnesia and reread this all over again.
- Rewrite - my first "Key" vn, it starts of slow but oh boy does it pick up the pace after just a bit. The story revolves a lot on supernatural themes accompanied by exciting action. If that's what you're looking for, this vn is just for you. And also, it's kinda very long but it'll be over once you even realise it. Everything in this vn is just done right. Amazing ost, great art, well written characters, and the stellar pacing. Man this was such a good read and it took me around 80 hours to finish it.
- Island - Just. Read. This. VN. it's worth it.
- Root Letter - a fairly short mystery VN accompanied by a set of banger osts and endearing characters. The gameplay mechanic in this one is slightly more complex because of the interactive aspects. There's exploration, logistics, and interrogation elements that makes it a fun experience to read. Would recommend for new VN readers.
- Narcissu - an extremely short tragedy VN about a dying patient. It's a roller coaster overall and although having outdated visuals, I'll tell you it aged like a fine wine. The story is not the most polished but it's a really great read.
- Will - A Wonderful World - a Chinese VN that features different stories from various characters. Man it's so hard to explain the premise of this story so just read it. It's a banger I promise, and it's also a bit more interactive than most VNs out there.
- Clannad - with its popularity stemming from the successful anime adaptations, I don't think I need to say why this series is amazing. If you thought the anime was great, the VN is much better.

Mapping Style:
Squares and overly complicated SVs.
Mapping Beliefs:
Map for yourself, a friend, or someone. Don't ever let other people talk you out about ideas which you genuinely think are interesting. However, do keep it in moderation because people are there to help you and not just scrutinise your mapping beliefs.
My Mapping Style is mostly inspired by Lasse (2016), ktgster, and Skystar because they're all amazing mappers!
Old mapping style from late 2017 - mid 2020; my new style starting from late 2020 is developed by myself using stuff that I liked from mappers such as galvenize, Delis, and toybot.
My "Russian" style from 2023 onwards is based off Djulus, Delis, and Jounzan.

I have a sharp tongue when it comes to modding, I say what I think although I'm not that good of a
