About
Hello! Currently writing this the day before I move.
Firstly note that I completely ok and happy! But for reasons I would prefer not to disclose, I have deleted my discord account. Actually, now that I am reading this back that makes it sound very scary and ominous. I guess I'll go into detail.
My discord has built up over the past 10 years and has been a testimate to my sociality. I have an extremely long history using the program and in my own way... sort of made a mess over the years. I've gotten involved in a lot of friend groups, met a lot of people and used it as my everyday place of social interaction but... upon using it too much, I ebegan using it in ways that didn't make me happy.
I would hang out with people I didn't really like out of fear of being alone, check servers constantly that nothing is even happening in with zero intention of saying anything. It was my most used app by far as I would check it all the time but began to realize not only how overwhelming my account was... but how little I was using it properly.
I'm notoriously known to be a terrible responder and I think a big part of that is my discord organization being absolutely horrible. I never closed any dms, left any servers or unfriended people so by the end of it all I was
1. at the server limit
2. constantly pushing the dm cap by attempting to meet new people pushing messages I haven't replied to downwards.
3. and by the end of it all I had 2500 people added.
Now that I am starting this new chapter of my life, it feels very fitting to take one step back and two steps forward by reorganizing core pieces of my life. Discord just happens to be one of them.
I am of course sad to lose my message history with many individuals and have lost some things I found extremely valuable in the process. But I feel that with how much was there, I could simply not leave it alone without feeling the need to return back to the account.
I will work on making a new one soon once I settle into my new life. I'll do my best to reach out to those to add back once I'm around again. Hopefully to a much more organized and healthy extent.
If you need anything at all, please reach out through osu. I still care about all the amazing people that got me through the years.
Thanks for everything.
best girl
