Take a pinch of salt/my opinion as I started Lazer around early 2024.
Been only playing mania mostly, a bit of taiko here and there

Song selection

Nothing much can be edited, but nice touch when SR range is filtered and still able to click on the maps out of the SR Range.

FPS

Since I own a not-so-good laptop that can run stable with avg 450~600fps. Switching to Lazer makes no difference at all, but your mileage may vary.

1ms input rate in Lazer I can't explain it in words, but it feels good.

In stable, the input rate is based on the fps you are running. This means that when I start to stream the game in Discord/anywhere else, the feel of the input delay will feel very off from time to time.

In Lazer, since the input rate is fixed to 1ms. This makes playing the game while streaming feel good even though the fps drop from 500~FPSto 300~FPS.
I found a sweet spot where reading with low FPS in Lazer is Lazer's fps should be x2 of your monitor refresh rate (120hz screen, getting 240+FPS in Lazer)

Songs

Technically all the songs will work in Lazer. But some gimmicky beatmaps that uses Storyboard/0 BPM might not work correctly in Lazer. Especially with this loved song

ScoreV2 scoring/accuracy system

I don't have any objection to this. But using ScoreV2 scoring, where is quite noticeable when choking might cause some score loss.
ScoreV2 Accuracy wise, there is not much to talk about but the chance to SS is pretty impossible for now. Unless they introduce a new grade/tweak on how SS will be calculated

Skinning

oh hell, the amount of things you can edit is blessed. KPS, judge counter, BPM text, the ability to move the error bar, and more french kiss

1. The error bar at the middle of the gameplay? YES No judging me..
2. The ability to nudge the combo counter without going to skin.ini? YES
3. KPS to flex your friend? YES
4. Judge Counter to see how bad is your ratio? YES
5. Want to Cheat with BPM? YES
6. Want to see your waifu at every part of your screen? YES

Want to use Hidden/Fade-in but hate the fact hidden covers the playfield based on combo?
Want to use Cover mod, but is unranked?
THEN USE SKINNING!! COVER ANYWHERE OF THE PLAYFIELD WITH YOUR WAIFU WITH FREE OF CHARGE!!!! and no one will knows

A noticeable issue is the lack of editability of skin.ini.
A lot of mania configs that you want to edit are locked away in Lazer. Not like Lazer doesn't allow you to edit, but instead locating the "skin.ini" is technically impossible.
Want to edit mania configs? Then hop back and forward with Lazer and Stable then..

Mods in Lazer

Mods in Lazer. Customizable mods and Preset saving feature.
These are some mods I typically uses/when i got bored.

DT - Using 0.05x rate is recommended (Ctrl + Up/Down), but +-0.01x rate will make the song sound very werid
Mute - Fun mod, but fps will tank while the song is fading out/instantly come back after breaking combo
Cover - Put it to 0.8, you discover a new world
Accuracy Challange (AC) - Force fail on certain Accuracy (Standard Accuracy/Maximum Accuracy). Adding Accuracy element and set it to Maximum Accuracy to see.
Difficulty Adjustment - OD11 is REAL
Daycore (DC) / Half Time ("Adjust Pitch": ON) - Half-time mod, but with pitch adjusted. Can be useful when the song is too distorted
No Release (NR) - Good when the LNs are not your friends
